Overview
Café Río Lejos offers specialty coffee sourced directly from small-scale producers in Colombia. Many of our coffees are available through a preorder system, which means that delivery times may vary depending on harvest cycles, international transport and import logistics.
This policy explains how shipping, delivery timelines and logistics are handled.
Preorder and Delivery Timeline
Most coffees offered on our website are sold through a preorder system.
This means that the coffee may still be in Colombia at the moment the customer places a request.
Delivery timelines therefore depend on:
harvest schedules
coffee processing and preparation
international transport
customs clearance in Europe
local delivery within Germany or the European Union
For this reason, delivery times may range between 1 and 5 months.
The estimated delivery time will always be communicated to the customer before payment is requested.
The delivery period begins only after the following conditions are fulfilled:
the customer has received a confirmation email with the estimated delivery date and shipping costs
the customer has accepted the offer
the payment via bank transfer has been successfully received
The delivery period does not begin when the pre-order request is submitted on the website, as this request does not constitute a binding purchase contract.
Shipping Areas
We currently ship to:
Germany
countries within the European Union
Shipping availability may vary depending on logistics and customs regulations.
Shipping Costs
Shipping costs inside and from Germany to other countries are not included in the product price shown on the website.
The exact shipping cost will be calculated and communicated in the order confirmation email before payment is requested.
The customer will receive the total price including shipping costs prior to confirming the order.
Shipping Method
Orders are shipped using reliable courier or postal services operating within Germany and the European Union.
The selected shipping provider may vary depending on the destination and logistics conditions.
Tracking
Once the order has been shipped, the customer will receive a shipping confirmation email including tracking information whenever available.
Tracking availability depends on the shipping carrier used.
Customs and Import
Coffee shipped to Europe is imported from Colombia and may be subject to customs procedures before entering the European market.
Café Río Lejos manages the import process and customs clearance before the product is delivered to the customer.
Customers within the European Union will normally not be required to pay additional customs duties or import fees upon delivery, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Delivery Delays
Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by factors beyond our control, including:
international shipping delays
customs inspections
logistics disruptions
force majeure events
If significant delays occur, Café Río Lejos will inform customers as soon as possible and provide updated delivery information.
Failed Delivery
Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery information.
If delivery fails due to incorrect address details or absence of the recipient, the shipping carrier may attempt a second delivery or hold the parcel at a local pickup point.
Additional shipping costs caused by incorrect delivery information may be charged to the customer.
Damaged or Lost Packages
If a package arrives damaged or appears to be lost during transport, the customer should contact us as soon as possible at:
We will work with the shipping provider to investigate the issue and find an appropriate solution.
