What is a Preorder
Some coffees offered by Café Río Lejos are available through a preorder system.
A preorder allows customers to reserve coffee before it arrives in Europe. Many of our coffees are harvested, processed and prepared for export in Colombia before being shipped internationally.
Because of this direct sourcing model, the coffee may still be at origin when a preorder request is submitted.
Preordering helps us ensure freshness, reduce waste and plan shipments responsibly.
How the Preorder Process Works
The preorder process takes place in several steps.
First, the customer selects the desired coffee and submits a preorder request through the website.
At this stage, the customer is asked to provide contact information including name, email address, telephone number and delivery address.
Submitting a preorder request does not constitute a binding purchase contract.
After receiving the request, Café Río Lejos reviews coffee availability based on stock levels and shipping logistics.
The customer will then receive an email confirmation including:
confirmation of product availability
estimated delivery timeframe
shipping costs
payment instructions
Only after the customer confirms the order and completes payment via bank transfer is the purchase contract concluded.
Estimated Delivery Times
Because coffee is sourced directly from Colombia and shipped internationally, delivery times can vary.
Typical delivery times range between 1 and 5 months, depending on:
harvest cycles
coffee processing and preparation
export logistics
international shipping
customs clearance in Europe
local distribution
The estimated delivery timeframe will always be communicated before payment is requested.
Payment
Payment is requested only after product availability has been confirmed.
Customers will receive payment instructions by email.
Payment is currently accepted via bank transfer.
Orders will be processed once payment has been received.
Changes in Availability
Coffee is an agricultural product and availability may sometimes change due to factors such as:
harvest variations
quality control results
export restrictions
logistics disruptions
If a coffee becomes unavailable after a preorder request has been submitted, Café Río Lejos will inform the customer and no payment will be requested.
If availability changes after payment has been made, customers will be offered either:
a full refund, or
an alternative coffee of similar quality and value.
Transparency and Communication
We believe in transparency and will keep customers informed throughout the process whenever possible.
If there are significant delays due to shipping, customs or logistics, we will notify customers and provide updated delivery information.
